Asmodee is hailing the success of CATAN: Connect the World – a worldwide celebration of ‘connection, strategy, and the timeless magic of tabletop play.’

To mark the CATAN’s 30th anniversary, fans came together on Saturday, June 28th across the world – including at London’s Kia Oval Stadium and Patriot Games Sheffield – to play CATAN – Connect. This event version of the game allows many people to play at once, and was previously used to beat the Guinness World Record for most people playing CATAN consecutively.

3,500 players across 86 events, spanning 38 countries all took part in this year’s CATAN: Connect the World events.

“The global success of CATAN: Connect the World is a true testament to the tabletop community and highlights the scale of fans worldwide united by a common love for CATAN,” said Phil Crawford, Brand Manager at Asmodee UK.

“For 30 years, CATAN has brought people together around the table, and this global event showed just how powerful that connection can be. Seeing thousands of fans across continents celebrate, smile, and experience some friendly competition together was a proud moment for everyone at Asmodee.”

Asmodee UK has detailed its ‘BrainBox in Schools’ initiative.

The project sees over 6,000 BrainBox demo packs being played across 31 UK schools.

BrainBox is a popular fun memory and observation card game, with over 8 million copies sold worldwide. The games are devised in the UK with support from teachers and educational experts.

“BrainBox is hugely popular for combining the fun of board games with learning about dinosaurs, the world or even football,” said Phil Crawford: Asmodee Brand Manager.

“This exciting initiative with Imagination Gaming gave us an incredible opportunity to work with schools to allow pupils to learn, without really realising they’re learning because ultimately in their eyes, they are just playing an amazing game.”
