M. Night Shyamalan and Brad Falchuk to helm Magic 8 Ball TV show for Mattel Studios

Mattel Studios is developing a scripted live-action television series based on its Magic 8 Ball franchise.

M. Night Shyamalan – director of films like The Sixth Sense, Split and Signs – will serve as director, co-creator and co-showrunner for the project, with Emmy Award-winning writer Brad Falchuk serving as writer, co-creator and co-showrunner.

Together, they aim to reimagine Magic 8 Ball as the centerpiece of a ‘high-concept, character-driven supernatural drama’.
