Let’s Play Games acquires 90% of the shares of Holdson Limited

Let’s Play Games has acquired 90% of the shares of New Zealand toy, giant Holdson Limited. The remaining 10% is retained by Managing Director Fleur Tisdale. The announcement was made on November 30th 2025.
Fleur confirmed that she and the entire Holdson staff will remain in their current roles. The business will continue to operate under the brand name Holdson out of the New Zealand office, warehouse and manufacturing facility.
“We are excited to start working with Let’s Play Games.” Said Fleur. “[This acquisition] positions both companies for new opportunities to expand market segments in both New Zealand and Australia.” She added: “Let’s Play Games will be a fantastic strategic partner with amazing industry depth and experience. Their scale, distribution networks and supplier relationships are expected to strengthen Holdson’s product offering, supply chain and access to market.”
Elsewhere, the MD of Let’s Play Games – Scott Hunstad – spoke of his delight at the deal: “I’m thrilled for Let’s Play Games to acquire Holdson Limited. Holdson has been in operation since 1939 and I am inspired by and aspire to that kind of legacy. Let’s Play Games and Holdson run complementary business models; which made this acquisition attractive to both parties.” Scott added: “I am deeply grateful that Fleur and her team will remain a part of the business and will be able to share their extensive experience with Let’s Play Games.”
Fleur also spoke of her delight in the deal: “It is poignant that Scott and his team place such value in our Holdson identity, manufacturing ability and brand legacy… Two companies who are 100% committed to investing in our brands, products and people. We are thrilled to join the Let’s Play Games family and look forward to a strong partnership for years to come.”
