Eco-friendly creative building kit Toyi has won the iF DESIGN AWARD 2021 in the ‘Product’ category.
Toyi was first conceived by İstanbulite product designer Elif Atmaca as a solution to allow kids who live in disadvantaged areas to transform their surroundings through play.
With a kit consisting of wheels, feet, eyes, joints, sticks, flexible connectors and junction parts, kids can transform any object around them into a toy.
The idea had won the iF DESIGN Student Award in 2015 and then launched following a successful Kickstarter Campaign in 2019. Since then, Toyi has won a Parent’s Choice Award, the Independent Toy Silver Award and the Rising Star Award at last year’s Play Creators Awards.
