Original Rubik’s Cube moulds set to go on loan to Kruger Street Toy and Train Museum
As the Rubik’s Cube continues to celebrate its this 50th anniversary, American Classic Toys is putting the iconic toy’s moulds on temporary loan to the Kruger Street Toy and Train Museum.
From Sunday, August 3rd, 2025, the Wheeling-based toy museum is set to feature the moulds in a new exhibit. Once belonging to Ideal Toys, the machines are believed to be in excellent condition. The opening date marls the 50th anniversary of Erno Rubik filing for his Cube’s US patent… It was made on the same date in 1981.
Allan Miller, co-founder of the Kruger Street Toy and Train Museum, said: “Beginning in 1981, these moulds produced millions upon millions of cubes, turning the invention into a smash it and cultural icon.
