CGE is launching a refreshed version of Codenames as the party game celebrates its 10th anniversary.
The new Codenames boasts updated box art, new agent illustrations and an eco-friendly game insert. Using data from Codenames Online, CGE has also curated a ‘tighter, more satisfying’ set of words for the word cards, chosen for better gameplay. The rulebook has also been shortened and simplified.
The new Codenames will be released in July, followed by refreshed versions of Codenames: Duet in Q3 and Codenames: Pictures in Q4.
Since its debut in 2015, Codenames has sold over 16 million copies worldwide, won the Spiel des Jahres and been translated into more than 45 languages.
