We caught up with Jonathan Bennink, design manager at The LEGO Group, to learn more about what went into giving the iconic moustachioed plumber a LEGO makeover.

“By seamlessly incorporating the latest digital technology, LEGO Super Mario is a highly social, interactive and collaborative experience for kids,” said LEGO’s Julia Goldin.

“It really is an important step in our ambitious target of making all LEGO elements from sustainable materials,” said LEGO’s VP of environmental responsibility, Tim Brooks.
