DK to launch LEGO Fiction range in 2026
DK is launching a LEGO Fiction line, the majority of which will be published by DK Flip – an imprint focused on middle grade, teen and YA fiction.
The slate of LEGO Fiction titles will include The Lost Brick from cartoonist Jeffrey Brown in November 2026. Set in a post-apocalyptic LEGO world, the story follows the adventures of the son of a famous family of adventurers who search for lost LEGO pieces and instructions.
“I grew up playing with LEGO bricks, and loved how I could combine playing with storytelling – those LEGO knights having to rebuild their castle was often an important plot point when I was playing,” said Jeffrey Brown.
“With the ever-expanding number and diversity of LEGO sets and minifigures comes endless creative possibilities and it’s a delight to say that now I can officially play with LEGO sets as part of my job! I’m thrilled to be a part of this new adventure with DK.”
The range will also include two new middle-grade series – LEGO Friends Pet Rescuers: Bunny Breakout and LEGO NINJAGO Quill of Destiny: Attack of the Scroll Guardian. Developed by Working Partners, each book will include an exclusive LEGO minifigure and elements for story-inspired play. These will launch in October 2026.
The line will also include LEGO Chapter Books aimed at five to seven year olds and packed with interactive elements. LEGO Chapter Books will launch with four books across two series in November 2026 – LEGO NINJAGO Riyu the Dragon, LEGO NINJAGO Riyu the Dragon: Ninja in, LEGO City Game On: Donut Dash! and LEGO City Game On: Duck Race!
“In 2026, DK will publish fiction with The LEGO Group for the first time ever,” said Mark Searle, MD at DK+.
“Our brilliantly bold list will offer dynamic and playful storytelling to help children to discover the joy of reading. We are thrilled to be buliding LEGO Fiction with our roster of incrediby talented partners, authors and illustrators.”
