13-year-old crowned youngest ever winner of Official UK Rummikub Tournament
The Official 2025 Rummikub Tournament made history on Sunday June 1st when it crowned its youngest ever winner. Eunice Chan, a 13-year-old from Leeds, triumphed in the competition held at the UK Games Expo, NEC Birmingham.
The sold-out tournament saw 40 passionate Rummikub players competing from across the country. The lineup – which included two former UK champions – competed in three intense rounds of the family game. Eunice, who has been playing Rummikub since the age of six, credited her love of the game to family time during the pandemic…
Eunice outplayed her opponents to secure victory after winning five matches throughout the day. Her father, Joseph Chan, said: “It was unforgettable to play Rummikub with Eunice and our family the whole day during the Covid lockdown… She is surprised and has no words to describe the winning – but thanks me for encouraging her to join this tournament.”
Lynette Leet, Marketing Manager for John Adams – the UK Rummikub distributor – said: “The Rummikub Tournament continues to prove incredibly popular. It’s a brilliant way for fans to come together as a community. It’s inspiring to see such young players not only competing but winning. Rummikub clearly spans generations and this year’s tournament proves it’s as relevant and loved as ever.”
