Playmobil brings interactive audio to its playsets with Playmobil hi!

Playmobil is introducing interactive audio experiences to its toys with Playmobil hi!

Playmobil hi! centres on three elements: the Playmobil hi! Backpack worn by a figure, Explorer Packs containing NFC stickers and classic Playmobil playsets. Through a companion app, content is downloaded onto the Backpack once. After that, play is completely offline – so when the figure moves through its world and passes a sticker, content is triggered. The Backpack combines memory, a speaker and touchless NFC technology in a compact form.

Each world offers more than 500 different speech and sound elements, played at random. Even when the same sticker is activated repeatedly, new combinations are created every time.

“Playmobil hi! represents our understanding of the next level of play,” said Bahri Kurter, Playmobil Executive Board Member.

“We give children new ways to dive deeper into their worlds, develop their own stories, and let their imagination run free. Playmobil hi! provides impulses, creates depth and new experiences — while always putting the child and free play at the centre.”

Playmobil hi! boasts four modes: Adventure Mode, Idea Mode, Story Mode and Puzzle & Game Mode. Adventure Mode boasts atmospheric content while Idea Mode features short creative prompts to encourage children to develop their own adventures. Story Mode showcases short ‘audio drama sequences’ and the Puzzle & Game Mode features interactive challenges.

At launch in September, Playmobil worlds such as Pirates, Police, Zoo and Horse Farm will be reimagined with Playmobil hi!. Additional themes and content are also planned.
