Golden Bear to take part in Alder Hey Children’s Charity Mascot Grand National in memory of John Hales

Golden Bear Toys is set to sponsor and take part in the Alder Hey Children’s Charity Mascot Grand National, in memory of its founder John Hales.
On May 15th, the Golden Bear team will step onto the Aintree Racecourse for the light-hearted race, with its mascots joining Alder Hey’s own Oli the Elephant on the iconic course.
Aintree holds special significance for Golden Bear as it’s where John Hales’ horse, Neptune Collonges, secured a Grand National victory in 2012. John was also a longstanding supporter of Alder Hey, regularly visiting the hospital with Neptune Collonges to spend time with children and families on the wards.
“Horses were John’s passion, and of course another of his great passions was bringing joy to children through toys,” said Barry Hughes, Managing Director at Golden Bear Toys.
“It feels incredibly fitting to celebrate his legacy in a way that reflects both – as well as his energy and generosity. Supporting Alder Hey Children’s Charity and helping to raise vital funds will make a real difference to children and their families.”
