CATAN – On the Road card game to launch in April

Asmodee, CATAN GmbH and CATAN Studio are launching a new CATAN card game called CATAN – On the Road.

Available from April 3rd, CATAN – On the Road delivers the core CATAN experience in a compact card format that’s ‘easy to learn, quick to play and perfect for travel’.

The game sees players race to reach seven victory points. Players collect resources by drawing cards, build from a shared pool of available options, and trade with either the bank or each other. Players who are not taking their turn are rewarded with a bonus resource card for participating in a trade, encouraging interaction and negotiation.

“On the Road gives players, a great CATAN experience in a fast, fresh format,” said Benjamin and Guido Teuber, Co-CEOs of CATAN GmbH.

“Playing exclusively using cards makes On the Road easy to bring along wherever you go, and we hope it becomes a welcoming gateway into the wider CATAN world for new players.”

Benjamin Teuber also designed CATAN – On the Road and added: “We were looking for a fun way to experience the joy of CATAN in an easy-to-learn, fast-to-play card game that still includes all the essential elements of harvesting, trading, and building. I especially enjoy the new approach to trading; it turns a classic CATAN mechanic into a whole new experience.”
