Connected play firms to broaden their reach via Valerie Vacante and Peter Jenkinson’s new TechUp service

TechUp
TechUp, a new service allowing tech toy firms to better showcase their products at some of the world’s top events, has launched.

The brainchild of Toyology’s Peter Jenkinson and Collabsco’s Valerie Vacante, TechUp puts the latest innovative products into people’s hands so they can play, learn and explore the world of cool tech and connected play.

With so many events and limited budgets to attend them, companies that sign up to TechUp can showcase products at various events at a discount.

“We saw a consistent challenge in the industry – there is an education process with new technologies, getting the product in people’s hands is key to gaining product insights and valuable consumer feedback,” said co-founder Valerie Vacante.

“For start-ups, challenger brands and established global brands, it can be difficult to prioritise which events to participate in and attend all while remaining focused on product development priorities. With TechUp, there are affordable ways to have a presence, gain media coverage and direct consumer feedback.”

The service launched last week at the Wired Live and Wired Next Generation events on London’s South Bank and plans are underway to showcase products at global events including CES and SXSW.
