Mattel details first wave of Mattel Brick Shop Hot Wheels sets
Mattel has detailed the first wave of sets under its Mattel Brick Shop brand, in collaboration with Hot Wheels.
Each set features accurate details and proportions, customisation options and includes real metal parts, allowing fans and collectors to recreate Hot Wheels vehicles. Every set also includes a 1:64th scale matching die-cast Hot Wheels car, only available as a part of the set.
“Hot Wheels has fuelled the passion of car enthusiasts for generations, and with Mattel Brick Shop, we’re giving fans an entirely new way to engage with their favourite vehicles,” said Roberto Stanichi, Executive Vice President, Global Head of Vehicles and Building Sets at Mattel.
“This Hot Wheels collection by Mattel Brick Shop delivers what car fans have been clamouring for: buildable vehicles that deliver true car authenticity. Our design team meticulously recreated these vehicles in brick form while preserving what made them great in the first place, including real metal parts and a matching exclusive die-cast, giving fans a new way to collect, build, and play.”
Mattel Brick Shop’s first Hot Wheels building sets are available in three series: Hot Wheels Speed Series, Hot Wheels Elite Series and Hot Wheels Premium Series.
The Premium Series – ‘dedicated to maximum authenticity and showstopping, display-worthy details’ – has an RRP of £136.99. The first set to land in this line is the Mattel Brick Shop Hot Wheels Mercedes-Benz 300 SL.
The Elite Series – with an RRP of £44.99 – comes with extra parts, metal wheel covers and licensed decals and spans sets including the Mattel Brick Shop Hot Wheels Corvette Grand Sport, the Mattel Brick Shop Hot Wheels ’90 Acura NSX and the Mattel Brick Shop Hot Wheels Custom ’62 Chevy Pickup.
Finally, the Speed Series – with an RRP of £21.99 – features sets like the Mattel Brick Shop Hot Wheels Cadillac Project GTP Hypercar, the Mattel Brick Shop Hot Wheels Maserati MC20 and the Mattel Brick Shop Hot Wheels Custom ’68 Camaro.
The seven sets are available now for pre-sale at select retailers globally and will hit retail shelves this summer.
